Champion Bloodlines for Show or Hunting Companions

We are a family owned kennel located in Southern Illinois, south of Marion, Illinois. We have been raising Labrador Retrievers for seven years and have owned at least one for 30 years. All of our dogs have been hip certified by OFA and the puppies have a 26 month guarantee on hip defects. We have one light yellow (white) male, and two young black females. Our dogs compete in AKC Conformation and UKC/HRC sponsored Hunt Tests and "Sonny" HR Wagon Creek Sonofagun, who is out of champion English bloodlines has his Hunter Retriever title. We are in the process of changing over our breeding pairs. We are trying to achieve the standard English Labrador "look" while keeping the hunting instinct and enthusiasm of the field trial dogs. Sonny (right) is our first step towards that. We also have two young black females. Heidi is from Champion Show dog bloodlines(English), while Abby is out of two Hunting Retriever English bloodlines.

The bottom picture is our new "stud". He's a little young right now, but he'll be ready in another year. His name is Wagon Creek's Sonofagun "Sonny" . We ran him in hunt tests this Spring and he received his HR (Hunting Retriever) title before his first birthday.

In July '09 we took Sonny to his first AKC show and he received two FIRST place ribbons.

Heidi our young female received a Third Place in her first AKC Show in Indiana in April '10.

Because we have all young dogs right now it will be a while before we have any litters. We do not breed our dogs until they are two years old and have had their hip certifications done. Abby is living in the outdoor kennels with her retired father, however the other two are living in the house with Larry and I and our Shitzu, Sammy.
